Calling All Deputy Voter Registrars (DVRs)
TIME FOR DVR RENEWAL

All Illinois Deputy Voter Registrar commissions expired on November 30, 2020. It's an easy, two-step process to renew:
1. Forward your name and address as it appears on you voter registration to the LWV-Wilmette DVR Coordinator, Mary Condon.
2. LWV-Wilmette will send you an Oath Update form, which you will complete and return electronically to the Cook County Clerk’s office.

If you'd like to become a Deputy Voter Registrar for the first time, contact Mary Condon, who will send you all relevant details, including online training.

The League Can Help
VOTE READY. VOTE EARLY.  DON'T DELAY; MAKE YOUR PLAN TODAY!
  • Check that you’re registered.
  • If you've moved since the last election, make sure to update your address.
  • Request your mail-in ballot online and receive a personal URL to track it.
  • With mail ballots being sent out now, watch your mailbox for its arrival.
  • Plan to mail it immediately (at least by 10/19) to allow adequate time for mail delivery or return it to a secure dropbox, starting 10/7 at the Skokie Courthouse or 10/19 at Centennial Ice Rink, the early voting site in Wilmette.
  • If you prefer to vote in person, avoid long lines by voting early; minimize your time at the polls by knowing what’s on the ballot and planning your vote in advance.
  • If you received a mail ballot but decide to vote in person, bring your mail ballot to the polls to give to the Election Judges. Without it, you will still be able to vote but will cast a "provisional" ballot, which means it has to be verified by the Election Authority as your only ballot cast before it is counted.

Consider Becoming a Pollworker
ELECTION JUDGES NEEDED

The Cook County Clerk’s Office has informed us of an increased need for election judges
this election season. Election judges serve on Election Day to help ensure that
polling places are running smoothly and voters are properly served.

Interested individuals will take a training class and test, and must arrive by 5:00 a.m. on Election Day to prepare the polls for opening at 6:00 a.m. sharp. This is a paid position.

Eligible high school students (even if not yet voting age) and college students are welcome to apply. The Clerk’s Office is specifically hoping for a great turnout of student election judges. Students will be paid the same as all election judges and, now that Election Day will be a state holiday on November 3, there will be no school conflict.

For more details, see the Cook County Clerk’s website.
