Consider Becoming a Pollworker
ELECTION JUDGES NEEDED The Cook County Clerk’s Office has informed us of an increased need for election judges this election season. Election judges serve on Election Day to help ensure that polling places are running smoothly and voters are properly served. Interested individuals will take a training class and test, and must arrive by 5:00 a.m. on Election Day to prepare the polls for opening at 6:00 a.m. sharp. This is a paid position. Eligible high school students (even if not yet voting age) and college students are welcome to apply. The Clerk’s Office is specifically hoping for a great turnout of student election judges. Students will be paid the same as all election judges and, now that Election Day will be a state holiday on November 3, there will be no school conflict. For more details, see the Cook County Clerk’s website. |
